Greetings, Friends,
In 2020, we have heard sermons about …
A global pandemic,
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”, Galatians 6v2
Coronavirus and how to curb the rise,
Disappointed church members,
Enthusiastic choirs eager to sing,
First we pray,
Gather not today,
Help us choose words that will best reach people and move them to action.
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty give him something to drink”, Romans 12v20
“Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom is not of this world.’” John 18v36
“Keep my commandments and live, keep my teachings as the apple of your eye” Prov7v2
“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend.” MLK
“Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed”. Psalm 85v10
No travel,
Open our Bibles and open our hearts,
Politically polarized elections,
Question our fears.
Racial Justice Movements,
See the stars, the moon and the sun move in silence … We need this silence in order to touch souls. Mother Teresa
“The quality, not the longevity of one’s life is what is important.” MLK
Understand the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom
Validation that it is okay to not be okay
“We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now”. MLK
“We are not to simply bandage the wounds of victims beneath the wheels of injustice, we are to drive the spoke into the wheel itself.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer
“You’re muted!”

Let us pray –
Oh God, we pray to be understood. Make our language simple and clear. Help us choose words that will best reach your people. Open the ears and minds of our spiritual family and let us not just hear with ears but understand with our hearts. In your name we pray, Amen.
