Things like this are the nuts and bolts of what makes a diocese operate. They’re not usually fun, exciting, sexy or anything like that, but they are crucial. It’s important the members of a church understand the workings of it. For me, I’ve always felt that means explaining the workings of a church in a way that makes sense to the majority of folks who never have (and likely never will) sit on a church vestry. Church shouldn’t make sense to only a chosen few.
It’s easier to have a transparent church when your explanation of resolutions is not bogged down in legal mumbo-jumbo.
That’s why we’ve created this blog. We want you to be able to understand the workings of Diocese of Michigan (and The Episcopal Church, too, for that matter). We’ll be adding to this, hopefully giving some real insight toward the ‘how’ and ‘why’.
Hopefully, we’ll live up to our end of the deal. Thanks for reading!
